Biography
Josh Klein is a multi-faceted composer for television, film, and production music. He got his start when he moved to Los Angeles in 2005 and began working with Emmy nominee James S. Levine at Remote Control Productions, Hans Zimmer’s composing studios, where he remained a resident composer until 2018. Over the course of his career, Josh has written music for many hit television series, including TNT’s Rizzoli & Isles, The Closer, and Major Crimes, FX’s Nip/Tuck and Damages, USA Network’s Royal Pains, and CBS’ NCIS LA. He received two ASCAP awards for the top cable series, Rizzoli & Isles, in 2015 and 2016.
For the last 13 years, Josh has been the principal composer for and has been instrumental in managing and producing 100+ albums for Sony/Extreme Music’s “Law & Audio” catalogue, a unique music library brand tailored towards crime drama programming that has since grown to feature other genres as well. His work has been placed in over 11,000 episodes of TV, advertisements, and other media.
As a new father, Josh created a passion project called The Sophistikids, a new brand of original children’s content featuring upbeat songs and animated music videos aimed at entertaining children, and coupled with savvy and comedic adult lyrics and concepts aimed at entertaining adults.
Most recently, Josh co-founded, largely composed, and co-produced the newly released label STEM: The Sound Of Science for Sony/Extreme Music, a sonically avant-garde score catalogue geared towards science and technology documentary series as well as a variety of other related media.
